This deceptively simple module will have a significant effect on your work. having a fixed point of integration allows you to focus on the performance without worrying about adapters, di channels, or cabling. tracking sixteen voices independently allows you to make mixing, balance, and processing decisions with a critical ear after the performance is captured. The unbalanced version used dedicated audio op amps for the signal path and will work great if you do not expect to have grounding or interference issues in shorter cable runs.
Now in kit form! This is a mix of SMT and through hole components that may be ideal for a challenging first SMT project or a second project once you are a bit more comfortable with a hot air station. The smallest components are 0805 and the ICs are all 1.27mm pitch SOIC. If you are patient, you could build it all with a fine-tipped soldering iron, but hot air and a paste syringe are by far the easiest.
